Who we are:
An integral part of northeastern North Carolina’s artistic community, AOA is located on Main Street in Elizabeth City, where our historic facility is home to a main stage theater, an art gallery, and other event and rehearsal spaces. In addition to providing a vibrant location for exhibitions, performances, and educational programs, we are also a cornerstone of the downtown ecosystem. We are passionate about fostering creativity and supporting local artists and our ongoing goal is to help create a robust, comprehensive scene that presents engaging and accessible opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
About the heARTs Campaign:
As we look to the future, the AOA board members, friends, and community members have conceived this initiative with a goal of raising $500,000. This money will go towards paying off the mortgage on our building, installation of a new HVAC system, and physical and technological upgrades to our gallery and theatre spaces – all critical facets of supporting our growing community.
