Let’s Make a SPLASH!
Splash is an annual week-long arts event held in Elizabeth City. It is North Carolina’s only city-wide retreat for visual artists, welcoming novice and professional artists alike.
With the beautiful river view, exciting downtown shops and venues, and historical architecture, it’s a great place to stay for a week of creating, as inspiration is everywhere. During Splash Week artists from near and far come together and spend the week sharing ideas, making friends, making new work, networking, and more.
While this is an artist retreat, Splash Week wouldn’t be the same without the energy brought by community onlookers! In the AOA Madrin Studio and around downtown, you are likely to see photography, fiber arts, watercolor art, plein air painting, pottery, jewelry-making, and more.

ARTISTS: Registration for the week is $150. This allows you a place to create and permission to sell your work directly from your table, with no additional fees or commissions required by AOA. You may register digitally below or by downloading the registration form and mailing it in, along with a check for payment. This fee does not include additional workshops and master classes, which are also open for registration below and on the paper form.
Those interested in financial assistance should fill out the paper registration form, which includes the financial aid request form, and return it in person or by mail. We will contact you once your request has been reviewed.
