Twiford Room at Arts of the Albemarle

Many artists are defined by a signature style. This style can be demonstrated by subject choice, artistic technique or other conceptual and presentational methods that make their work easily identifiable and unique. It is these aspects that often separate an enduring image from tomorrow's fish wrap.

This workshop will help define your vision and message and help to guide you to produce work that represents your personal style. Whether you’re trying to reorganize your website galleries, submit to a portfolio review, a contest or a gallery, how you sequence your photos matters. Selecting and sequencing your images is a skill, and can be the difference as to whether your work gets the proper focus you want.

In this 2-day workshop you will understand how to better organize your work to tell the story you intend. There will be group feedback and hands on help to get a better perspective on your work, and how others perceive it. This workshop is open to all styles and subjects and levels of experience. It is recommended that the participants have a cohesive body of work in progress. It is strongly preferred that students bring prints of any size rather that digital files on a laptop to share with the class.
